Bryn Teg, Bala - Local Attractions

Bala is an attractive and lively historic market town within the boundaries of the Snowdonia National Park (designated an area of outstanding natural beauty) straddling the A494 Dolgellau road. It is ideally situated for touring North and Mid Wales. There are interesting shops, inns, restaurants and an intriguing historical Town Walk.

Bala boasts it’s own lake - Llyn Tegid (or Bala Lake), the largest natural lake in Wales.  A charming narrow-gauge railway, the Bala Lake Railway, travels the length of the lake. Llyn Tegid is the home of a rare fish, the Gwyniad which was left when the last Ice-Age receded.
